Quaking Grass is a short-lived tufted grass with upright stems growing 10-65 cm tall. The seed-head is a distinctive drooping open panicle with 3-12 large flower spikelets.
Able to invade most vegetation types this species can form dense swards and outcompete native species.
A native to northern Africa, southern Europe and western Asia, this species is common in the Surf Coast region.
